Limits and what it does not do

  • You can merge at most 50 PDFs in one pass.
  • The merge tool does not include a thumbnail sorter. To rearrange pages inside one file, use Reorder PDF Pages first.
  • Password-protected PDFs must be unlocked first. Merge does not remove passwords.
  • Closing the tab before you download discards the merged copy.

How to merge PDF files online

  1. Add the PDFs you want to combine

    Drop two or more PDF files into the merge tool, or click to browse. Add them in the order they should appear in the final PDF.

  2. Check the file list

    Files are joined in the order shown. This page does not include a drag-to-reorder list. If the order is wrong, click Clear files and add the PDFs again. To rearrange pages inside one PDF, use Reorder PDF Pages first.

  3. Merge PDF files

    Click Merge PDFs. The files are joined page-by-page in your browser into a single PDF.

  4. Download the combined PDF

    Your merged PDF is ready immediately. Compress it next if you need a smaller file to email.

Combine PDF files online without Adobe

Merge PDF files when you need one packet from several documents — applications, invoices, signed forms, or lecture notes. This PDF merger joins every page in the order you add the files, so you can combine PDFs on a phone, tablet, or computer without installing Acrobat.

Because joining happens in the browser, you can merge PDFs that you would not want to upload to a third-party server.

The order files are joined

The merged PDF follows the list order, first file to last. There is no thumbnail sorter on this page. If a scan is internally out of sequence, fix that file with Reorder PDF Pages, then come back and merge. Skip a file entirely to keep those pages out of the packet.

After you join PDFs, compress the result if the combined file is too large to email, or convert PDF to JPG when someone needs images instead of a multi-page document.

Putting application packets and work files in one PDF

A common reason to merge PDF files is a job or school application: a cover letter, a form, and a certificate that arrived as three downloads. Add them in the order the recipient asked for. The merged file follows that list from first page to last. If one document is internally out of order, fix it with Reorder PDF Pages before you merge.

Invoices, signed agreements, and lecture notes work the same way. Keep the original files until you have opened the combined PDF and counted the pages. Merging does not unlock a password-protected file; unlock it first or the tool will refuse it.

There is no upload queue and no “job ID” on a server. If you close the tab before you download, that merged copy is gone. That is the privacy trade: we never hold a spare copy for you.

Up to 50 PDFs, totalling 200 MB and 1000 pages. Each file can be up to 50 MB and 500 pages. Compress oversized files first if the merge is slow.

Can I merge password-protected PDFs?

Unlock password-protected PDFs before merging. The tool shows an error if a locked file is detected.
