Privacy Policy
Last updated: 18 September 2026
Who we are
ManageMyPDF (managemypdf.com and managemypdf.co.uk) provides free, browser-based PDF tools. For the limited personal data described in this policy, ManageMyPDF is the data controller. This policy explains what information is (and is not) collected when you use the site. Questions about this policy can be sent through the Contact page or emailed to hello@managemypdf.com. There is also an About page that describes who publishes the site.
Your files stay on your device
All processing runs locally in your browser using open-source libraries and WebAssembly. PDFs, JPG or PNG images, and Word .docx files you open, convert, compress, merge, or reorder are not uploaded to our servers. We do not have access to the contents of your files, and we do not store them.
Accounts and personal data
The site does not require an account. We do not ask for your name, email address, or payment details, and we do not maintain a user database.
Advertising (Google AdSense)
We use Google AdSense to display ads and support the free tools. The AdSense script is included in the site layout so ads can load on pages that show them. Google may set advertising cookies when that script runs, including on pages that do not display an ad unit.
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet. Third parties, including Google, may place and read cookies on your browser, or use web beacons to collect information, as a result of ad serving on ManageMyPDF.
You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info or the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out. How Google uses data from partner sites is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use Google services and in Google's advertising policy. Google and its partners may use cookies, web beacons, and IP addresses or similar identifiers as a result of ad serving on this site.
United Kingdom and European Union (UK GDPR and EU GDPR)
This section is for visitors in the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area, and Switzerland. It sits alongside the rest of this policy and does not replace it. ManageMyPDF is the controller of the limited personal data we receive when you load the site. We do not receive the contents of the PDFs, images, or Word files you open in the tools.
Personal data we process
- Your files: processed only on your device. They are not uploaded, stored, or accessed by us, so we are not the controller of that content.
- Hosting logs: Cloudflare may process technical request data such as IP address, approximate location derived from IP, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps in order to deliver, cache, and protect the site.
- Advertising: Google AdSense and its partners may process identifiers such as cookie IDs, IP address, and browsing data to show ads, measure them, and (if you consent) personalise them.
- Email you send us: if you contact hello@managemypdf.com, we process the address and message so we can reply. Do not attach documents.
Legal bases
- Legitimate interests (UK/EU GDPR Article 6(1)(f)): delivering a working website, keeping it secure, and answering emails you send us.
- Consent (UK/EU GDPR Article 6(1)(a), and UK PECR / the EU ePrivacy Directive for cookies): advertising cookies and personalised ads. You can refuse or withdraw consent without losing access to the PDF tools.
Who receives data
We do not sell personal data. Recipients of technical or advertising data are:
- Cloudflare, which hosts and protects the site.
- Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC, which serve ads through AdSense and may show a consent message (Google Funding Choices) before advertising cookies are set.
International transfers
Cloudflare and Google may process data in the United States and other countries. They rely on transfer tools such as the EU-US / UK-US Data Privacy Framework and Standard Contractual Clauses. We do not operate our own servers that receive your files.
Retention
We do not keep a user account or a copy of your documents. Files in the browser are discarded when you close the tab. Hosting logs and advertising data are retained by Cloudflare and Google according to their own policies. Emails you send us are kept only as long as needed to handle the request.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to processing of personal data we hold, and to data portability where it applies. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time. Because we do not store your files or run accounts, the personal data we can act on is usually an email you sent us, plus whatever Google holds for advertising.
To exercise rights with us, email hello@managemypdf.com or use the Contact page. For Google advertising data, use Google Ads Settings and, in Europe, Your Online Choices.
You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority. In the UK that is the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). In the EEA you can contact your local data protection authority via the European Data Protection Board members list.
We do not use your data for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
United States (CCPA and similar laws)
If you are a resident of California or another US state with a consumer privacy law, we do not sell your personal information, and we do not collect your name, email address, or the contents of your PDFs, images, or Word files. Google AdSense and its partners may use cookies or similar identifiers to show ads, including personalised advertising. That activity is controlled by Google, not by a ManageMyPDF account.
Google and its advertising partners may use cookies or similar identifiers to show ads. That activity is controlled by Google, not by a ManageMyPDF account. You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings and at the Digital Advertising Alliance.
Cookies
Essential cookies are not required for the PDF tools themselves. The AdSense script may still run on every page. Advertising cookies may be set by Google and its partners as a result. Under UK PECR and the EU ePrivacy rules, visitors in the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area may see a consent message from Google (Funding Choices) before personalised ads or non-essential advertising cookies are served. You can refuse or withdraw that consent; the PDF tools still work. See the UK and EU GDPR section for legal bases and rights.
Log data
Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) may process standard technical request data such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited, in order to deliver and protect the site. Google advertising services may also use IP addresses and similar identifiers when ads are shown, as described in the advertising section above. We do not use hosting logs to identify you.
Children
This site is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, or under the applicable digital-consent age in the EEA (which may be 13 to 16 depending on the country). If you believe a child has sent us personal data, email hello@managemypdf.com and we will delete it.
Terms of Use
Use of the site is also covered by our Terms of Use. Technical controls that keep files on your device are described on the Security & Trust page.
How to contact us
For privacy questions, email hello@managemypdf.com or use the Contact page. Please do not attach PDFs or other documents; we cannot access files processed in your browser.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change when we do.
