When a browser Word to PDF converter is enough

What ManageMyPDF keeps from a .docx file, what it drops, and when you should export PDF from Word or LibreOffice instead.

How to convert a Word document in the browser

  1. Save as .docx

Legacy .doc and macro-enabled .docm files are rejected. Open the document in Word or LibreOffice and save a .docx copy first.

  2. Drop the file and pick A4 or Letter

The converter accepts one .docx file of up to 50 MB per file. Processing runs in this tab.

  3. Download and read the PDF

Check headings, lists, tables, and images. Headers, footers, columns, comments, text boxes, and SmartArt are out of scope and may be missing.

  4. Use Word’s own export if layout has to match

If the PDF must look identical to Microsoft Word, export from Word. Then you can still merge or compress that PDF here without uploading it.

What the local converter is for

Use it when the document is straightforward and you do not want to send it to a server. Headings, body paragraphs, lists, simple tables, and images are mapped into a selectable PDF. That is enough for many CVs and letters.

It is the wrong tool when the page uses newspaper-style columns, a designed header, or SmartArt. Those features are not reproduced. Exporting PDF from Word or LibreOffice is the accurate path in that case.

After you have a PDF

You can merge the PDF with other documents, compress it for email, or reorder pages. None of those steps uploads the file either. Keep the .docx original; the PDF is a one-way conversion.

When a browser Word to PDF converter is enough FAQ

Why not upload the Word file to a cloud converter?

You can, but then the document leaves your device. This converter is for letters, CVs, and reports you would rather keep local, accepting that it is not Microsoft Word.

Are macros run in the browser?

No. The tool reads document XML only. Files that contain a VBA project are rejected. That is a safety limit, not a missing setting.

Can I convert several Word files at once?

Not in one pass. Convert each .docx to PDF, then use Merge PDF if you need a single packet.
